Career: debut in Piraeus aged seven; numerous concerts in Europe from 1980; solo piano recital aged 11, to audience of 4,000 at Herodes Atticus Theatre of Athens 1981; first US appearance aged 12, with Nat. Symphony Orchestra of Washington, Carnegie Hall, New York 1982; appeared at Prague Spring Festival with Sir Charles Mackeras and the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra playing Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4 1986; played 12 different piano concertos over six nights with Singapore Symphony Orchestra, Sgouros Festival, Singapore 1990; has played in all the major cities and concert houses and on all the major radio and TV stations worldwide; repertoire of 45 piano concertos and large number of solo piano and chamber music works; took part in cultural events at Los Angeles Olympics 1984, Athens Olympics 2004, Beijing Olympics 2008; opening recital, Newport Music Festival, RI 2011; European tours with Budapest Festival Orchestra 2013, 2015–16

Honours and awards: numerous awards, including Rotary Club of Athens Award 1981, Acad. of Athens Award 1982, Los Angeles 1984, Athens Conservatory Gold Medal 1984, Tom Brandley Award, Los Angeles 1984, Leonardo da Vinci Int. Prize, The Lions: Melvin Jones Fellow 2000, Chopin Diploma (Poland) 2010, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization Prize for Arts, Sciences and Literature (Greece) 2014

Television: Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 1 with Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra, Conservatory of Music, Caracas (televised nationally on American A&E Network) 1982

Recordings include: works by Schumann, Brahms, Rachmaninov, Tchaikovsky, Liszt, Mozart and Chopin with the Berlin Philharmonic, London Philharmonic and Sofia Philharmonic Orchestras and the Radio Orchestra of Slovenia, Capriccio’s Elysium Recordings (USA), Grieg Piano Concerto with Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra 2000, Rachmaninov Piano Concertos Nos 2 and 3 with Cyprus State Orchestra (for Steinway Club 150th anniversary, recorded live)
