Career: Sandra Whitworth has been Professor in the Department of Political
Science and the School of Women's Studies, York University, Toronto since
1989. She currently also serves as Graduate Programme Director in the Department
of Political Science and has been a Faculty Associate of the York Centre for
International and Security Studies since 2006. Her research interests include
gender and peace-keeping and international intervention in Somalia and Cambodia.
Sandra Whitworth has been co-editor of the International Feminist Journal
of Politics (see url below) since 2005.
Publications include: Feminism and International Relations 1994, Women, Peace and Security (co-author) (Notable Government Documents Award, American Library Association 2002) 2002, Men, Militarism and UN Peacekeeping: A Gendered Analysis 2004, International Relations (co-editor of first Canadian edition of textbook) 2004; several book chapters and numerous articles in professional journals
