Career: Henry Wai-Chung Yeung has been Professor of Economic Geography
at the National University of Singapore since July 2005. In February 2006,
he led a team residency at the Rockefeller Foundation's Bellagio Study and
Conference Centre in Italy. In the second half of 2006, he was appointed Visiting
Researcher at the International Centre for the Study of East Asian Economies
(ICSEAD) in Kitakyushu, Japan, University of Auckland Distinguished Visitor,
and Visiting Professor at the University of Hong Kong. He also holds adjunct
professorship and research positions at Henan University, China, and the Institute
of Geographical Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of
Sciences, China. His research interests include trans-national corporations
in southeast Asia, developing country trans-nationals, foreign investment
in ASEAN, Hong Kong firms in ASEAN, theories of international business and
production, Chinese business networks, networks and organizational theories,
economic geography, geography of international business, economic development
in the Asia Pacific region, Asian firms in the global economy, economic globalization,
and regionalization of Singaporean firms. Henry Wai-Chung Yeung has been co-editor
of the Review of International Political Economy (see url below) since 2001
and is co-editor of Environment and Planning A, Economic Geography, Asia-Pacific
Editor of Global Networks: Journal of Transnational Affairs, and Business
Manager of the Singapore Journal of Tropical Geography. He also sits on the
editorial boards of ten other international journals, including Asia Pacific
Journal of Management, European Urban and Regional Studies, Journal of Economic
Geography, Asia Pacific Viewpoint, and Eurasian Geography and Economics.
