Career: Richard R. Valcourt became Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Intelligence and Counter-Intelligence (see url below) in 1997, having previously served as its Managing Editor and Executive Editor since 1986. A former journalist and policy analyst, he taught American government and Intelligence at Hunter College in New York City from 1981 to 1996, and joined the Consulting Faculty at American Military University in 1997. A member of the Association for Intelligence Officers (AFIO) and Vice-President of its Metropolitan New York Chapter, he is active in numerous public policy organizations, including service on the International Advisory Board of the Research Institute for European and American Studies (RIEAS), Athens, Greece. In 2006, he was designated a Distinguished Senior Scholar by the Intelligence Studies Section of the International Studies Association.
