Career: David Thomas is Reader in Christianity and Islam in the Department
of Theology and Religion at the University of Birmingham. His main interests
areas are Islamic theology and philosophy, the history and theology of Christian-Muslim
relations, Islam and culture, and textual studies in Arabic. He is currently
working on Christian Doctrine in Islamic Theology and The Encyclopaedia of
the Bible and its Reception (as editor for entries on Islam), Part 1 of Christian-Muslim
Relations: A Bibliographical History. David Thomas is co-editor of the journal
Islam and Christian-Muslim Relations (see url below).
