Career: Jeremy Richardson is Professor and Emeritus Fellow of Nuffield
College, Oxford. He began his academic career as Assistant Lecturer in Politics
at the University of Keele from 1966–69, then Lecturer in Politics from
1969–74, later Senior Lecturer in Politics from 1974–80 and then
Reader in Politics from 1980–82. In 1982 he took up an appointment as
Professor and Head of the Department of Politics at the University of Strathclyde
until 1992. In that year he became Professor of European Integration and Director
of the European Public Policy Institute at the University of Warwick until
1995. He was Professor of European Public Policy at the University of Essex
from 1995–98 until his appointment as Nuffield Professor of Comparative
European Government, Director of the Centre for European Politics, Economics
and Society (CEPES) and Professorial Fellow of Nuffield College, University
of Oxford 1998–2002. From 2002–04 he was Senior Tutor and Fellow
of Nuffield College, Oxford, and since 2004 he has been Emeritus Fellow. His
main research interests include policy making in the European Union, comparative
public policy, and the policy change process. Jeremy Richardson is Founding
Editor of the Journal of European Public Policy (see url below).
