Career: Andy Pike is Senior Lecturer in the Centre for Urban and Regional
Development Studies, School of Geography, Politics and Sociology at the University
of Newcastle upon Tyne. He is also Degree Programme Director for the MA, Diploma
and Certificate Regional Development and MA Regional Development (Research).
His research interests are in the geographical political economy of local
and regional development. He is currently working on projects about place-attached
brands and local development, and de-mutualization in the brewing industry.
He is a member of the Regional Studies Association, the IBG-RGS Economic Geography
Research Group and the Institution of Economic Development. Andy Pike is co-editor
of the journal Regional Studies (see url below).
Publications include: Local and Regional Development (co-author) 2006; numerous articles in professional journals
