Career: Stephen Padgett is Professor of Government at the University of
Strathclyde. He came to Strathclyde in 2000 from the University of Liverpool,
having previously been at the Universities of Essex and Loughborough. His
main interests include political parties and party systems, democratization
in post-communist society, and European Union policy. He was Chair of the
Association for the Study of German Politics from 1993–96 and remains
a member of the Executive Committee. Stephen Padgett was a founding co-editor
of the journal German Politics (see url below) and is currently its Managing
Editor. He has co-edited three successive editions of Developments in German
Politics.
