Career: Oliver Morrissey has been Professor in Development Economics,
Director of the Centre for Research in Economic Development and International
Trade (CREDIT) and Deputy Head of School and Director of Studies for Postgraduate
Research at the University of Nottingham since 2004. He joined Nottingham
in 1989. He was a Research Assistant at the Economic and Social Research Institute
in Dublin from 1982–84. Later he was a Research Officer at the Centre
for Development Studies in Bath from 1987–89. He was a Research Fellow
at the Overseas Development Institute (joint appointment) from 2000–04.
His research interests include the macroeconomic effects of aid and trade
policy reform in Africa. Present research concentrates on the fiscal impact
of aid, volatility of capital flows, trade and non-policy barriers to export
growth, and the political economy of policy reform. Oliver Morrissey has been
Joint Managing Editor of The Journal of Development Studies (see url below)
since 2006 and co-editor of the journal Development Policy Review since 2000.
