Career: Joe Maiolo is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of War Studies
at King’s College London. Before joining the Department in 2001, he
held teaching posts in Modern European and International History at the Universities
of London (1997–98), Leicester (1998–99) and Leeds (1999–2001).
During the 2005–06 academic year, he was Senior Visiting Research Fellow
at the Norwegian Institute for Defence Studies. Dr Maiolo’s research
focuses on the history of diplomacy, strategy and intelligence in the era
of the two world wars. His current research project is a study of the relationship
between the global arms race of the 1930s and the coming of the Second World
War (forthcoming 2008). Joe Maiolo is co-editor of the Journal of Strategic
Studies (see url below) and a member of the editorial board for Intelligence
and National Security.
