Career: Les Lumsdon is Division of Tourism and Hospitality Research Professor
at the University of Central Lancashire. He was previously a Senior Lecturer
at the Business School at Staffordshire University and a researcher at the
Centre for Alternative and Sustainable Transport. He is a specialist in tourism
marketing and economic impact of recreational walking and cycling routes.
He is currently researching walking as an economic generator. Les Lumsdon
is co-editor of the journal Tourism and Hospitality: Planning & Development
(see url below).
Publications include: numerous articles in professional journals on the development of walking strategies within urban areas
