Career: Angus Lockyer is Lecturer in the History of Japan at the School
of Oriental and African Studies, University of London where he is also Convenor
of the courses Japanese Modernity and Modern Japan. His expertise is in the
areas of modernization and modernity in Japan, world's fairs, international
and industrial exhibitions, and visual culture. Angus Lockyer is Senior Editor
of the journal Japan Forum (see url below).
Publications include: Civilization in the Modern World, XVII, Collection and Representation (co-editor) 2001; several articles in professional journals
