Career: Deborah Dixon is Senior Lecturer in the Institute of Geography & Earth Sciences at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. Her administrative responsibilities include BA Degree Scheme Tutor and Co-ordinator of the MA in Practising Human Geography. Her research interests include the application of post-structural and feminist theories to case study research on economic and political restructuring, particularly as it pertains to marginalization in urban and rural areas in the UK and the US. Recently her research has broadened to include the field of cinematic geographies, and in particular the interplay between technology and epistemology, identity politics in the production and consumption of film, and the social construction of scale. Deborah Dixon is co-editor of the journal Gender, Place and Culture (see url below).
