Career: Stephen P. Depoe is an Associate Professor of Communication and Affiliate Professor of Environmental Studies at the University of Cincinnati. He also serves as Director of the Center for Health and Communication Research. His research areas include environmental and risk communication, particularly the role of the public in environmental decision-making, and public communication. His recent work includes co-directing the 6th Biennial Conference on Communication and Environment, and co-editing a published volume based on that conference. Professor Depoe teaches courses in Environmental Communication, Rhetorical Theory, Rhetoric of Social Movements, Rhetorical Research Methods, and Seminar in Public Address. He is co-editor of the journal Environmental Communication: A Journal of Nature and Culture (see url below).
