Career: Neil Carter has a broad background in British politics and public
policy, with a particular specialism in environmental politics and policy.
His environmental interests are wide-ranging and comparative, including research
on the impact of environmental issues on established parties, the development
of green parties and the integration of environmental issues into the policy
process. He is co-editor of Environmental Politics (see url below) and has
also published several articles on leadership contests in British political
parties. In the past he has studied New Public Management reforms in British
government, publishing extensively on the development and use of performance
indicators. Neil Carter is a member of the Public Policy subject group.
Publications include: The Politics of the Environment 2001, Environmental Governance in China (co-editor) 2007, The Politics of the Environment: Ideas, Activism, Policy (second edition) 2007; numerous articles in professional journals
