Career: Ben Murtagh is Lecturer in Indonesian and Malay in the Department
of the Languages and Cultures of South East Asia, School of Oriental and African
Studies, University of London. His expertise is in the areas of traditional
Malay and modern Indonesian literature, the history of Indonesia, film in
Indonesia and Malaysia, and gender and sexuality in Indonesia. Ben Murtagh
is Joint Managing Editor of the journal Indonesia and the Malay World (see
url below).
Publications include: one edited book, several book chapters and various articles in professional journals
