Career: Mike McNamee is Professor of Applied Ethics, Department of Philosophy,
History and Law, School of Health Science, Swansea University. He has pioneered
the Philosophy of Sport and Sports Ethics as a credible teaching and research
field in the UK. He is currently Vice Chair of the European Association of
the Philosophy of Sport. He has served on the Executive Committees of the
Philosophy of Education Society of Great Britain, the European College of
Sport Science and the International Council for Sport Science and Physical
Education. His research interests include ethical issues regarding doping
and other human enhancement technologies, research ethics and sports medicine
ethics. He is Co-Editor of Routledge's Ethics and Sports Book Series. He has
lectured and published widely on the subject and has developed curricula in
the area for a number of UK higher education institutions. Mike McNamee is
editor of the journal Sport, Ethics and Philosophy (see url below).
