Career: Bryan MacGregor has been Vice-Principal and Head of College, College of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Aberdeen since 2003 and was Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences & Law from 2002–03. Earlier he was Director of the Centre for Property Research in the Department of Land Economy from 1994–2000. He has been MacRobert Professor of Land Economy since 1990 and was Head of Department from 1990–94. He began his professional career as a Research Assistant in the Central Research Unit at the Scottish Development Department from 1975–76. He was then Supervisor (Economics and Statistics) in the Department of Land Economy, University of Cambridge from 1978–81. He then became Lecturer in Planning and Management in the Department of Land Management and Development at the University of Reading from 1981–84. In 1984 he was appointed Lecturer in Town and Regional Planning at the University of Glasgow where he remained until 1987, when he took up the post of Deputy, later Property Research Manager in the Property Division of Prudential Portfolio Managers until 1990. He was a Director of Real Estate Strategy Limited in Reading from 1993–98 and Consultant to Henderson Real Estate Strategy, London during the same period. He is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and the Royal Town Planning Institute and a Fellow of the Weiner School of Advanced Studies, Homer Hoyt Institute, Florida, USA. Bryan MacGregor is editor of the Journal of Property Research (see url below) and a member of the editorial boards of the Journal of Real Estate Research, the Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, the Journal of Construction Research, the International Real Estate Review and the Journal of Property Investment and Finance.
